Great Picture Books Don't Happen Randomly.

They're built on defined structures that few writers truly understand.

After May 12, you'll know them - and know exactly how to make your picture books stand above the rest.

On May 12th, Natascha Biebow will teach you the hidden structures of successful picture books - and how to choose the right one for any picture book manuscript you write.

If knowledge is power, prepare to gain a superpower.

You probably know that novels and screenplays are typically written to conform to a certain structure, such as The Hero's Journey, Save The Cat! and The Snowflake Method.

It makes sense - these are methods created around a deep understanding of how we tell one another stories. Rather than reinvent the wheel, professional writers build out their work around the structure that fits best.

What you probably didn't know - because it's rarely taught - is that the best picture books also conform to clearly defined, time-tested structures.

Understanding these powerful structures - and knowing the right one to use - will make it much, much easier for you to create a picture book that impresses editors & agents, and thrills parents and young ones alike.

Natascha Biebow, picture book author, editor and a 2018 recipient of the MBE (Member of the British Empire) for her services to children’s book writers and illustrators.

Natascha Biebow understands these structures on a deep level - and she's ready to explain it all to you.

On May 12, acclaimed picture book editor & author Natascha Biebow will introduce you to the picture book structures that succeed in today's market.

Based on her extensive research and analysis, Natascha will provide unmatched insight into each structure and help you decide which one is right for you.

Knowing these structures will help you avoid countless hours of trial and error, and let you focus on what you really love - pure creative expression.

On May 12th (with lifetime on-demand replay), Natascha will personally guide you to finding the structure that will truly elevate your picture book.

You'll learn:

  • How to determine what your story is really about. What is the spark? What will hook in young readers? What is the point of difference from other picture books in the marketplace?

  • How to pinpoint what you're trying to get across to readers and the key take-away. Is it a funny book, a book with heart, a book that informs readers or something else entirely?

  • The absolute best, time-tested picture book structures that can provide a strong backbone for your story while assuring you hit the beats necessary to craft a powerful and publishable picture book.

  • How to know what not to include in your mansucript. (Pro tip: the very act of selecting the right structure will make it very easy to see what needs to be cut!)

  • How to put it all together to create a tight, impactful manuscript with a structure that puts everything in exactly the right place.
